After the big performance of Serb star Nikola Jokic in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Jamal Murray took over in Game 2.
Murray scored 23 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter, as the Denver Nuggets got a 108-103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers for a 2-0 lead in the series.
“He was special,” Jokic said. “He won us the game basically.”
Murray missed 12 of his 17 shots through three quarters but had 6 for 7 in the fourth, including four 3-pointers, and fueling a 15-1 run that gave Denver a 96-84 lead.
Jokic added 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists for one more triple-double for a total of 13 triple-doubles in the playoffs, being third all-time in the list.
German guard Dennis Schroder added four points and six rebounds for the Lakers who got 22 points by LeBron James and also 22 by Austin Reaves.
