As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 18-year-old and projected No.1 overall pick in the 2024 Draft – according to Jonathan Givony – Matas Buzelis will play with the G-League Ignite team in the 2023-24 season, before making the jump to the NBA.
Matas Buzelis, who was born in Chicago, has already committed to the Lithuanian national team. He led powerhouse Brewster Academy to a 31-8 record and a New England prep school championship and, according to ESPN, had previously narrowed his college choices to Kentucky, North Carolina, Florida State, and Wake Forest.
With this year’s G-League Ignite, the projected No.2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft Scoot Henderson has been averaging 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, skipping the NCAA and college program.
