Celebration mode for the Joker naturally creates brilliant shades of comedy.
Following the championship-clinching win over the Miami Heat in Ball Arena Monday, Nikola Jokic was anxious to find out the parade date to celebrate the first championship in Denver Nuggets history.
“No. I need to go home,” he jokingly reacted to learning the parade scheduled on Thursday.
Jokic, 28, eventually relaxing in his hometown Sombor is extremely likely to be combined with riding his horses. Buying another horse after winning the NBA championship and being named Finals MVP is another revealed intriguing activity. But before the trip to Serbia, he will be the brightest star of the parade.
“I mean, we succeed in our jobs, and we won the whole thing. It’s an amazing feeling. But like I said before, it’s not everything in the world,” he added sharing his uncommon perspective on becoming an NBA champion, “I think. Okay, I won it. Okay, not I, we won it. But I think it’s not the most important thing in the world still. There is a bunch of things that I like, that I like to do. Probably that’s a normal thing.”
“Nobody likes his job,” Jokic pointed out and laughed, “Or maybe they do. They’re lying.”
Possibly a stretch to even consider playing in the 2023 FIBA World Cup from 25 August to 10 September so soon after the grueling season. But representing Serbia in Asia this summer is a possibility.
