Semaj Christon and Derthona Baskets officially parted ways, and per Eurohoops sources, he will be with the Minnesota Timberwolves in a veteran camp.
The former Oklahoma City Thunder player showcased his talents in Italy this year and attracted interest from another European team.
The 30-year-old playmaker averaged 15,7 points in Legabasket and led his team to third place in the standings, but couldn’t make it with Derthona past Virtus Segafredo Bologna in the semifinals.
After spending two years at Xavier College, Christon was drafted by Miami Heat as the 55th overall pick but got traded to Charlotte Hornets and then to Oklahoma.
He spent his first season in the G League, and in 2015 joined Pesaro for his first European stint, but got back to Oklahoma the following year, debuting in the NBA.
Later he played in China and Puerto Rico, then returned to Europe and wore the jerseys of Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Limoges CSP, Baskonia, Tofas, and Ratiopharm Ulm, before landing with Derthona in 2022.
