AS Monaco superstar guard Mike James appears to be on the agenda of the Phoenix Suns. According to NBA reporter Marc Stein, James is among the names who have emerged as “potential targets” for the 2021 NBA Finalists.

James, who’s under contract with Monaco through 2023-24, has multiple links with Phoenix. He actually made his NBA debut with the team in 2017, playing 32 games and 10.4 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 assists, before getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Then there’s the Kevin Durant connection. After they became friends when they played together at the Brooklyn Nets, Durant has traveled to Europe twice these last couple of years to watch James play with Monaco in EuroLeague and the French LNB League.

During one of his trips, Durant attended an elimination game for the EuroLeague playoffs between James’ Monaco and Olympiacos Piraeus, being mesmerized by the atmosphere at the latter’s arena.

In 2022-23, James averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds as Monaco made the Final Four for the first time in the history of the club and won third place. He was named to the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
