The NBA free agency is approaching, and Kyrie Irving’s situation is becoming more unclear as time passes. As reported by Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the 31-year-old playmaker is expected to meet with the Phoenix Suns, potentially discussing a reunion with Kevin Durant after their time in Brooklyn.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics point guard will reportedly meet with the Dallas Mavericks, the Houston Rockets, and other NBA franchises as well, with the meetings expected to take place in Los Angeles.

As Chris Haynes says, “It would be difficult for the Suns to add Irving due to the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement” and “the Mavericks are still considered the favorites to re-sign Irving”. Also, “[Kyrie] Irving is eligible for a five-year, $272 million max contract”, the NBA expert added.

Leaving the Brooklyn Nets mid-way through the season via trade that also involved Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyrie Irving joined forces with Luka Doncic in Dallas, trying to bring the Mavericks to the NBA Playoffs. Despite non-reaching the goal, he had 27.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game with Jason Kidd’s team.
