Spanish prospect Izan Almansa, projected as a high first-round pick in the 2024 NBA draft, has officially signed with G League Ignite for the upcoming season.
The 18-year-old forward, who recently represented Spain in the U19 FIBA World Cup in Debrecen, showcased his potential with impressive accolades from his performances in international tournaments. He earned MVP honors at both the FIBA U17 World Cup and FIBA U18 European Championship.
After starting his basketball journey in Murcia, Izan Almansa was recruited by Real Madrid in 2019. He spent two years playing for Real Madrid‘s U16 team and also managed to make appearances in three games for the club’s reserves in the fourth tier during the 2020-2021 season.
Following his time with Real Madrid, the talented Spaniard joined Overtime Elite in Atlanta, where he has spent the past two years. Last season, playing for the YNG Dreamerz, Almansa showcased his skills by averaging 9.9 points, nine rebounds, 2.1 assists, and one steal in 27 minutes per game. He displayed an impressive shooting efficiency, with a 58% field goal percentage.
