Jerami Grant and the Trail Blazers are in agreement on a 5-year, $160 million contract, per ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
Grant played college basketball for the Syracuse Orange before declaring for the 2014 NBA Draft. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 39th overall pick in the second round. Grant spent his first few seasons in the NBA with the 76ers and then had stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets before joining the Detroit Pistons.
Grant is known for his versatility and athleticism on the court. He primarily plays as a forward, capable of playing both small forward and power forward positions. Grant is a strong defender and has shown the ability to guard multiple positions. His athleticism allows him to be effective in transition and as a shot-blocker.
Offensively, Grant has developed into a reliable scorer. He has improved his shooting range, becoming a threat from beyond the arc, and has the ability to finish at the rim with dunks and strong drives. However with Detroit in rebuilding mode, Grant was traded το Portland in the summer of 2022, immediately making an impact for the Blazers.
