Free agent Kyrie Irving has agreed to a three-year, $126 million contract to return to the Dallas Mavericks, with a player option in the third season, per the Atheltic’s Shams Charania.
Irving left near the end of the season the Nets and paired up with Luka Doncic, however ultimately the Dallas Mavericks despite an impressive start of the season, didn’t even make it to the playoffs.
Irving played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils before declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft. He was selected as the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving quickly made an impact in the NBA, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in his debut season.
During his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Irving became known for his exceptional ball-handling skills, scoring ability, and clutch performances. He played a crucial role in the Cavaliers’ success, including helping them win their first NBA championship in 2016 alongside LeBron James.
In 2017, Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics, where he continued to showcase his skills as a playmaker and scorer. He played two seasons with the Celtics before joining the Brooklyn Nets in 2019.
