As officially reported, the Atlanta Hawks have waived Czech swingman Vit Krejci. The 23-year-old player was traded to the Hawks last summer and appeared in 29 games, averaging just 5.3 minutes on the floor.
Krejci was on a non-guaranteed contract worth $1,840,000 in the 2023/24 season, as reported by Lauren L. Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, while the Hawks have 15 players on guaranteed standard contracts, as noted by John Hollinger of The Athletic.
The former Zaragoza player was selected as the 37th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards and subsequently traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Czech international missed the post-draft season recovering from an ACL injury but played 30 games in the 2021/22 season for the Thunder.
Vit Krejci spent the summer with the Czech National Team, playing three games at Estonia’s 2023 Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament, averaging 14 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds.
