Spending the 2022-23 season as a member of the Houston Rockets, including being re-signed in February, Boban Marjanovic will be reinserted in the squad.

Marjanovic, 35, will be returning to Houston on a one-year contract, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

In 2022-23, he tallied 3.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest in 6.5 minutes per game over 31 appearances coming off the bench for the team then coached by Stephen Silas. His role is not expected to change under the new head coach Ime Udoka.

The Serbian center was traded to the Rockets during the 2022 offseason, waived and re-signed last February, and stayed on board among the backups behind Turkish Alperen Sengun for the franchise based in Texas.

Following a productive spell in Europe, including 48 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Marjanovic launched his NBA career in the 2015-16 season.

From inking a one-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs, he switched to the Detroit Pistons as a restricted free agent, one year later. He went on to the Los Angeles Clippers via trade in 2018 and to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019. Resurfacing in the free-agent pool led to him signing with the Dallas Mavericks before the 2019-20 season. His stay in the fellow Texas franchise lasted the next three years, until the move to Houston.

He is a veteran of 348 games played in the NBA, including 31 appearances in the Playoffs.
