Reigning EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov has apparently already made quite an impression on his Sacramento Kings teammates.
“Sasha shoots the hell out of the ball. He’s broken shooting records that we had last year,” Kings swingman Kevin Huerter said during the team’s Media Day, per multiple reports.
“He comes in and he doesn’t miss. A lot of us have some work to do to catch up,” Huerter also mentioned on Vezenkov. That’s coming from someone who shot 40.2 percent on 6.8 attempts in 2022-23.
Vezenkov’s shooting prowess is well-known to those who’ve been watching him emerge as a star in EuroLeague with Olympiacos Piraeus this last couple of years and become MVP of the competition in 2023. Last season he had 79/209 from the 3-point line, including several tough attempts from very deep range.
Shooting is just one of Veznekov’s many offensive talents and one of the reasons why the Kings signed him this offseason, convincing him to leave Greece his beloved Olympiacos. At 28 years of age, the Bulgarian forward is getting ready for his debut NBA campaign after spending five years with the Reds.
