Luka Doncic had 18 points, six assists and five rebounds playing only in the first half as the Dallas Mavericks fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves 94 – 104 in the second of the two NBA preseason games that the team played in Abu Dhabi.
This was the Mavericks’ last game before the trip to Spain to face Real Madrid, Doncic’s former team. The Slovenian superstar joined the Spanish organization at 13 years of age, emerged as a teenage phenomenon, and became a team leader and the 2018 EuroLeague championship and MVP before moving to the NBA.
In the match vs. the Timberwolves, Doncic spent 19 minutes on the floor, shooting 5-12. Jaden Hardy led the Mavs in scoring with 22 points.
Karl Anthony-Towns and Naz Reid scored 14 apiece for the Timberwolves. Rudy Gobert posted seven points and five rebounds in 17 minutes.
