After being shut down for the remainder of the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season with an Achilles injury in March, Bojan Bogdanovic will sit out the start of the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season with a right calf strain.
Bogdanovic, 34, was initially ruled out for the opening game of the Regular Season, after missing the entire Preseason due to the latest setback. Updating his status alongside Monte Morris and Isaiah Livers on Tuesday, the Pistons announced he will be reevaluated in four weeks.
Per the press release: “Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic is out with a right calf strain. He will be reevaluated in four weeks.
Pistons guard Monte Morris suffered a right quad strain during a recent rehab session that ramped up basketball activities after missing time with lower back soreness. He will be reevaluated in three weeks.
Isaiah Livers (Grade III left ankle sprain) is making progress towards returning to basketball activities. He will be reevaluated in approximately four weeks.
Updates will be provided as appropriate.”
Starting the 2023-24 Regular Season on the road, the Pistons will play against the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
The Croatian small forward averaged 21.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contest over 59 appearances, before the premature ending to his ninth campaign in the NBA. Apart from Detroit, he played for the Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, and Brooklyn Nets. A veteran of 709 games played, including 47 in the Playoffs.
Other former include Cibona, Fenerbahce Ulker, and Real Madrid with stints leading to 87 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He jumped from Europe to the NBA in 2014.
