Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic was named Player of the Week in the Western Conference for the first three games of the 2023-24 season, the NBA announced.
Jokic averaged 26.3 points, 13.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists while the Nuggets registered wins over the Los Angeles Lakers at home in the opener, plus the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. The Serbian big man began the new season where he left it, delivering 29 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in the victory over the Lakers.

The NBA has announced that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday October 24th to Sunday October 29th.
Jokić wins the award for the first time this season and has now earned Western Conference Player of the Week honors 13 times in his career, the most in franchise history.
Jokić, 28, averaged 26.3 points, 13.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting .615 from the field and .455 from three-point range en route to a 3-0 week. Among the Western Conference, he ranked second in total field goals, second in total rebounds, second in total assists and sixth in scoring. He also secured one triple-double vs. LAL on 10/24 and recorded a double-double in every game.
The 2023 NBA Champion kicked off the week by registering 29 points (12-22 FG’s, 2-4 FT’s), 13 rebounds and 11 assists in an opening night win against the Los Angeles Lakers on 10/24. It marked his 106th career triple-double, one shy of tying LeBron James and Jason Kidd for fourth all-time. He followed that up with 22 points (8-14 FG’s), 12 rebounds and seven assists in a road win against the Memphis Grizzlies on 10/27. Finally, Jokić capped the week by posting 28 points (12-16 FG’s), 14 rebounds and five assists as Denver beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 128-95, marking the Nuggets largest road victory since 2022.
