Defending NBA champs, the Denver Nuggets, are 4-0 at the start of the 2023/24 season, and Nikola Jokic already has two triple-doubles.
With 27 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, he pushed the Colorado team over the Utah Jazz and tied with Jason Kidd and LeBron James on the all-time triple-doubles list as No. 4, notching his 107th. Does he see some similarities with two all-time greats?
“Maybe the all-around game. Especially offensively. To affect the game in every possible way you can on the offensive end. Being versatile,” Jokic said.
He also was full of praise for Utah’s leader, Finnish international Lauri Markkanen, who scored 27 points with 14 rebounds against the Nuggets.
“He can be a problem. He’s 6’11”, he can dribble, shoot with a high release, attack in the mismatch. He can face big guys, go post up smaller guys, attack on the glass, shooting the ball extremely well. I think he figured out he can be a star in this League. He’s an All-star of course, but he can do an even better job,” the two-time MVP said about the Finnish player.
