It seems a decision has already been made to change the process of selecting the candidates to be inducted in the Hall of Fame. More significantly, in order for a player to be considered a candidate, five seasons have to be passed since his retirement, however this situation is expected to change.
According to NBA.com, this period of time will be limited to four seasons and, consequently, some of the league’s greatest players will have the opportunity to be inducted a year earlier. For example, Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson and Yao Ming will have the chance to be included in the “class of 2016”. Any final decisions and official announcements are expected in the next few days.
