The Chicago Bulls didn’t start the season well, and according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Darnell Mayberry, they are showing increased openness to discuss the future of their star player, Zach LaVine.
Of course, many teams are showing interest and tempting the Bulls to check the availability of the two-time All-Star guard, with several possible trade scenarios already emerging for the 28-year-old player.
The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie believes the Philadelphia 76ers might use assets acquired in the James Harden trade with the LA Clippers, but they would have to wait until December 30 due to trade aggregation restrictions.
It’s no secret that the LA Lakers are looking for a star player for their backcourt to boost championship aspirations. They could potentially offer D’Angelo Russell, as well as Taurean Prince and/or Gabe Vincent, starting from December 15, and also Rui Hachimura, though the Japanese international only becomes eligible from January 15.
If the Golden State Warriors reportedly decide to go for LaVine, they would potentially have to offer Chris Paul and Jonathan Kuminga. The Miami Heat could offload a couple of young players like Jaime Jaquez, Nikola Jovic, and Oscar Robinson, along with potentially veteran point guard Kyle Lowry.
However, not only championship-contending teams are interested in adding LaVine, with the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and even the Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, and Orlando Magic being potential destinations for the Chicago Bulls’ guard.
It’s also worth mentioning that draft picks could make a difference in offers for LaVine, as Chicago might enter a rebuilding process if they decide to offload one of their stars. There are also reports that they might be interested in trading Alex Caruso and even DeMar DeRozan.
LaVine is averaging 22.6 points, five rebounds, and three assists with a 42.4% field goal percentage this season, shooting threes with 34% accuracy.
