Emerging as the player with the most rebounds in the history of the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo broke yet another record of legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Antetokounmpo, 29, is the franchise leader across points, assists, and rebounds. “Hopefully, if I keep working hard, there is more to come,” he mentioned after the home win versus the Houston Rockets on the latest edition of NBA Sundays, “I am beyond blessed to be all-time leader in rebounds. But I got to keep going, keep moving forward.”

Drafted by the Bucks back in 2013, initial projections regarding his NBA career were well shy from such accomplishments.

“I do not think anybody assumed that the skinny kid from Greece that was drafted and supposed to play in the G-League would be in a position to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record,” he recalled, “I know for sure there is going to be someone who is going to come along in time and break all of the records that Kareem set, Oscar Robertson, Marques Johnson, myself, Khris (Middleton).”

For the time being, the Fiserv Forum crowd enjoyed a video of rebounds throughout his career. A huge ovation celebrated the Greek Freak during the next timeout, following the new record on Sunday.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per contest over 25 appearances in the 2023-24 Regular Season. The Bucks sit second in the Eastern Conference standings, 1.5 games behind the Boston Celtics.
