The latest brilliant display placed Nikola Jokic alongside Wilt Chamberlain as the two players in NBA history combining a triple-double with 100% from the field on multiple occasions.
“I am enjoying these moments,” he mentioned after leading the Denver Nuggets to a blowout win against the Memphis Grizzlies in Ball Arena on Thursday, “There is not going to be a lot of those nights.”
The Serbian superstar went for 26 points behind 11/11 from the field. Sidekick Jamal Murray lasted 26 minutes recording 23 points.
“Sometimes we do not make shots or the right play, but I think the chemistry is always there. We want to make the right play,” Jokic described his connection with the Canadian point guard, “Missing or making shots is part of the game. But just building the good habits and the good system, I think that is what is most important.”
The partnership has already produced an NBA championship, the first in franchise history last June. The Joker received the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award after being named season MVP over the two previous campaigns. Head coach Michael Malone keeps enjoying Jokic with Murray through the 2023-24 Regular Season.
“I do not know how many MVPs you can say this about, Nikola does not care ‘How many shots am I getting?’ He was 11-for-11 tonight. He does not care about that. If Jamal has it going, he is clapping for Jamal,” noted the Nuggets play-caller.
