Getting the first win of the season against the 1st seeded team in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks took down the Minnesota Timberwolves with a special effort from Luka Doncic.
The Slovenian superstar led his team with a performance of 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists, shooting 12/26 from the field with 5/12 from beyond the arc. On the other end, Rudy Gobert went close to a double-double under the rim with 9 points and 17 boards.
Elsewhere, Nikola Jokic had a unique stat line of 4 points, 7 rebounds, 16 assists, and 5 blocks to give Denver the comfortable win over Detroit, with Bojan Bogdanovic’s 14 points that weren’t enough.
Being still undefeated in this year’s NBA Regular Season against the Kings, the New Orleans Pelicans managed to win 133-100 on the road in Sacramento in what came down as the Lithuanian duel between Jonas Valanciunas and Domantas Sabonis.
The former had a double-double of 15 points (6/10 FG) and 12 rebounds, while the latter couldn’t deliver another triple-double but still had 17 points (8/12 FG), 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the losing effort.
Jusuf Nurkic put up a monster double-double of 18 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 assists against Memphis, but the Phoenix Suns lost 121-115 at home. The same happened to Ivica Zubac, who had 22 points and 19 rebounds against the Lakers in the Clippers‘ Los Angeles derby defeat.
