It looked like he barely broke a sweat, but the Indiana Pacers still couldn’t handle Nikola Jokic.
The Serbian center had another terrific performance, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 117-109 victory at Ball Arena as the defending champions improved to 28-13.
Jokic finished the match just an assist shy of another triple-double, scoring 25 points with 12 rebounds. What makes this performance even more impressive is the fact that Nikola missed only two shots in 33 minutes spent on the court, as he went 12-13 from the field and 1-2 from the free-throw line.
It’s the third time in the last year he reached those numbers on a 90+ field goal percentage. Nobody else has done it since 1998.
Michael Porter Jr. also had a great night for the winning team, shooting 7-11 from beyond the arc for 25 points. Jamal Murray also added 25 with eight assists, while Aaron Gordon had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Former Nuggets‘ player Bruce Brown led the Pacers with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists after he received his championship ring won with Denver last summer, just before the tip-off.
Buddy Hield followed with 16 points, while Myles Turner, Andrew Nembhard, Isaiah Jackson, and Bennedict Mathurin added 12 points each. Tyrese Haliburton missed the match due to injury.
