San Antonio Spurs rookie star Victor Wembanyama is planning to participate in the Skills Challenge of the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
European players have always had a steady presence in the Skills Challenge. Last year, Giannis Antetokounmpo participated, together with his brothers Thanasis and Alex as a team. In 2021, Domantas Sabonis actually won the Skills Challenge, like Kristaps Porzingis has done before him in 2017.
The last time a French player won the Skills Challenge was Tony Parker back in 2012.
Wembanyama is averaging 19.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 3.1 assists in the season so far.
