Picking up O.G. Anunoby sent the New York Knicks from 17-15 to 28-17 in the NBA Regular Season.
“They just told me to play my game, be aggressive on both ends, just be myself,” he revealed the plan following the trade from the Toronto Raptors completed in late December.
“I expect to make a difference,” he added confidently after the win against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.
An improved situation and ranking fourth in the Eastern Conference table after blowing out the defending champions. “It was a good win. We played hard. We did a great game plan and we went out and executed it,” said the British small forward.
Combining a team-high 26 points with six steals shaped a dominating outing on both ends of the floor. “I make the reads on the ball. If I see something or feel something, I am just being aggressive going for it,” he shared his approach to being efficient in completing steals.
For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic posted a 31-point, 11-rebound double-double. “They were just more aggressive,” mentioned the Serbian superstar. “One team basically on the floor today.”
“Jokic is a great player. No matter what, he is going to get his points,” noted Anunoby commenting on the team effort in defense.
Averaging 15.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game since joining the Knicks, brilliant form changed the momentum for the team coached by Tom Thibodeau in the 2023-24 campaign.
