Milwaukee Bucks dominated against the New Orleans Pelicans in the last game with an interim head coach. From the next game on, Doc Rivers is taking over.
Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered another great performance and after the match commented on Rivers’ arrival, who will debut against the Denver Nuggets.
“Doc Rivers is a legend. He has a great aura, from the first moment he told us about the responsibility we need to have and the unity we need. He gives confidence to the team and I look forward to working together. We have five tough games in the West ahead of us, and I don’t expect him to go on a winning streak right from the start. It will take time; we will have to change some things in defense, in attack, in our daily life, in everything. But as long as we are united, we can get where we want,” Giannis said.
The 62-year-old won a championship as a head coach of the Boston Celtics in 2008.
“The first NBA game I ever saw was a Lakers – Celtics game with that coach in the finals in 2008. We had an old TV that you had to hit to make it work. I remember Kobe and Pierce, but also the coaches. He is a legend in the league, he has achieved great things and I hope we can achieve together. We have won a championship and we want to do it again. He too, gives us confidence, it’s nice to have a leader like that in the dressing room. But there are steps we have to take to get there,” Antetokounmpo added about Doc Rivers.
