Victor Wembanyama took the NBA by storm. Even before the San Antonio Spurs picked him as the No. 1 overall pick last summer, the whole world was following his games and progress. Now, as he shines among the biggest stars, his popularity is constantly rising.
Therefore, only three players have a more sold jersey after the first half of the 2023/24 season, based on NBAStore.com sales. None of them is European.
Stephen Curry leads the list in front of Jayson Tatum and LeBron James. Some of the biggest names in NBA history and long-time established stars, and then comes Wemby.
The French prodigy is fourth on the list of the top-selling jerseys list, in front of Giannis Antetokounmpo at fifth and Luka Doncic at sixth. The next and the last European player on the Top 15 list is two-time MVP and a defending NBA champion, Nikola Jokic at 14th place.
Interestingly, defending MVP Joel Embiid’s jersey is only 12th on the top-selling list, and even his Philadelphia 76ers teammate Tyrese Maxey sold more.
As for the top-selling team merchandise list from the first half of the season, the LA Lakers are leading it, with the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia Sixers among the top five in that order. The Chicago Bulls are sixth, and beneath them are the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Mavericks. Merchandise from the defending NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets, is not among the top 10.
