Earned his nomination to Pau Gasol’s team but ended up losing against the G-League representation in the NBA All-Star Rising Stars Game, Victor Wembanyama commented on the whole experience in the post-game press conference.

After getting home with 11 points and 7 rebounds in the fast encounter, he said he’s now focused on getting back to action with the San Antonio Spurs. “I was tired before it even started. I can’t wait until it’s over because I need these couple of days of rest to get back to being good during the season”, he said.

“This match doesn’t ruin my weekend experience. I try to stay professional until the end and do my job, but the truth is, I’m eager for all of this to be over”, the No.1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft said.

He also commented on the fact that he played against “guys who are very promising”, but at the same time, he was disappointed in the aftermath. “I hate losing”, the French center commented.

In the future, we could see Victor Wembanyama playing in other challenges like the Three-Point and Dunk Contests. “That’s on my bucket list”, he said ahead of his participation in the Skills Challenge.
