Dealing with a flight delay on his way to Indianapolis on Saturday, Giannis Antetokounmpo missed out on the NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T but met with reporters on time for the media day press conference, heading to his eighth appearance in the annual All-Star Game.
“It’s always a great feeling. I never take it for granted, and I’m never going to let it slide by without appreciating it. From my first one until my last one,” he explained on playing alongside the best players of the league.
On Jabari Parker, he shared his excitement about his former teammate at the Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to 2018 thriving in Europe with FC Barcelona. “I’m just happy that he’s enjoying the game again. Barcelona definitely have a good one, good one. A great one,” he said, “Great guy also. I’m happy. I’m happy to see him out there. I’m very, very happy to see him out there.”
The Greek Freak is on Team East in the 73rd NBA All-Star Game, opposite Team West’s European superstars Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic.
“It’s always fun playing against the best players,” he replied to a question about facing the Joker, “Now, if we are going to be in the Finals, I don’t know, time will tell. Denver has a very, very good team, probably the favorite in the West, probably going to make it all the way. But we have a lot of work to do, talking about our team.”
