Metta Sandiford-Artest, formerly known as Metta World Peace and Ron Artest, already made a comparison between Victor Wembanyama and Wilt Chamberlain, stating that “he’s gonna get 101 points” one day.
Speaking again at FanDuel’s Run It Back, he continued heaping praise on San Antonio Spurs’ No. 1 draft pick, stating that his dominance might get boring.
“At some point in time, he’s going to have a Wilt Chamberlain type of season. At some point in time, we’re going to see something that’s going to be boring. They’re going to try to change the rules because he’s going to be in a rhythm, he’s going to be thick. You’re not going to be able to move him at some point. He’s already durable. He’s fallen, he’s not spraying an ankle,” Sandiford-Artest said.
Only four players ever managed to record quadruple-doubles in the NBA, with former Spurs star David Robinson being the latest, achieving the mentioned feat in 1994, but Sandiford-Artest believes Wembanyama will be the next to do it.
“I think you’ll see some quadruple-doubles; I think you’ll see dominance. And don’t let him get some shooters around him,” he added.
The French rookie has already shattered many records and is averaging 20.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.3 blocks on 46.7% shooting from the field in his first NBA season.
