Midway through his 16th season in the league, Danilo Gallinari set his sights on helping the Milwaukee Bucks win an NBA championship. Giannis Antetokounmpo shared his view on contributions from the experienced Italian forward after a comfortable win versus the Charlotte Hornets in Spectrum Center on Thursday.
“It is easy to play with Gallo. He is so smart,” noted the Greek Freak, “He has been around a long time. He knows how to play the game.”
“Sometimes we are going to ask him to score. Sometimes we are going to ask him to facilitate. But we know he can do both. We know that he is capable of doing a lot of things for us offensively. Defensively, such a big body helps his defense with his length,” he added.
Since joining the rotation of head coach Doc Rivers, a few days after signing a contract as a free agent, Gallinari has enjoyed the ongoing four-game winning streak coming off the bench in all four outings. He put up 2.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. A total of ten points over the two most recent wins against the Hornets was combined with increased playing time.
Improving to 39-21, the Bucks sit third in the standings of the Eastern Conference, trailing the leading Boston Celtics by eight games. Heading to the bottom end of a back-to-back on the road, they take on the Chicago Bulls in the United Center on Friday.
