In a matchup between two of the best teams in the respective conferences, the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to take down the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-104 in overtime.

Rudy Gobert ended the game with 7 points and 17 rebounds but was ruled out with 27.8 seconds to go in regulation by earning a sixth foul. Responding with a money gesture, he was awarded a technical foul that sent Cleveland to the line, tying at 97-97 and extending the encounter.

In the aftermath, the French center blamed himself for forcing overtime. “I should have not done that. I cost my team the game, and obviously, they couldn’t wait to give me a tech. That was bad. That was an immature reaction”, he commented about his attitude late in the game, as reported by The Athletic.

Later on, he widely explained his thoughts. “I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger and bigger, but it shouldn’t feel that way. I think it’s hurting our game”, he said by commenting that he’s expecting a fine for being “the bad guy again that speaks what I think is the truth”.

Minnesota is currently 2nd in the Western Conference with a 44-19 record, just one victory away from leading it all. The Oklahoma City Thunder are ruling it at 44-20. Rudy Gobert has been a huge factor in the Timberwolves’ success so far by averaging 13.8 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.
