Another day, another page in the history books for Nikola Jokic.
The Serbian superstar led the Denver Nuggets to a big comeback 125-119 victory over the Toronto Raptors at home, with his 126th triple-double of his career, but a special one.
Jokic recorded a triple-double in three quarters and finished the match with 35 points, 17 rebounds, 12 assists, and six steals, a stat line no one had achieved in NBA history until him, leading the defending champions to their ninth win in 10 matches after the All-Star break.
Nikola is also the first player in the 21st century to record 30+ points, 15+ rebounds, 10+ assists, and 5+ steals in a game.
Jokic rewriting history books has become pretty common lately, as has Luka Doncic notching consecutive triple-doubles. Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a blowout 92-127 win on the road against the Chicago Bulls.
It was his seventh straight triple-double, as he finished the match with 27 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds, while averaging a 35-point triple-double since the All-Star break.
Luka and the Mavericks spoiled Onuralp Bitim’s career-record night, with the Turkish player scoring 17 points with six rebounds for the Bulls, and Nikola Vucevic adding 13 points and six boards.
Victor Wembanyama got back on the court and had a great night with 27 points and 14 rebounds but couldn’t help the San Antonio Spurs win, with the Golden State Warriors taking the road victory with a final score of 102-112.
Many European players took the court in the Detroit Pistons‘ 114-97 victory over the Charlotte Hornets, with Simone Fontecchio contributing 17 points and eight rebounds for the winning side.
Vasilije Micic had 11 points and seven assists for the guests, and Davis Bertans added seven points, while Aleksej Pokusevski contributed two for the Hornets.
