Resurfacing in the NBA, Isaiah Thomas is expected to join the Phoenix Suns on a ten-day contract down the stretch of the 2023-24 Regular Season. Wrapping up a stint with the Charlotte Hornets, his last appearance in the league dates back to the 2021-22 Regular Season.
Thomas, 35, en route to penning a ten-day contract with the Suns was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic on Saturday.
Determined to return to the NBA, the two-time All-Star joined the Salt Lake City Stars in the G League. Over four appearances in the last two weeks, he tallied 32.5 points per game behind 40.7% from the field and 44.6% from beyond the arc. On the way to a second spell with the Suns, his efforts with the Stars also went into 5.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per contest.

Labeled as championship contenders, the Suns are battling for a direct ticket to the 2024 Playoffs. At 39-28, they rank sixth in the Western Conference, the lowest spot guaranteeing a spot in the Playoffs. Visiting Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in Fiserv Forum on tonight’s edition of NBA Sundays sets up the next challenge for the team coached by Frank Vogel.
Elsewhere in the free-agent market, the Cleveland Cavaliers are signing Marcus Morris to a ten-day contract, as added by Charania. The Cavs sit in third place in the Eastern Conference table, one game behind the Bucks and two games ahead of the New York Knicks.
