The San Antonio Spurs are considered likely to shut down Jeremy Sochan for the remainder of the 2023-24 Regular Season.

The versatile Polish forward is dealing with an impingement in his left ankle. He logged 74 appearances in his sophomore NBA campaign before being forced to the injury list. Despite the setback, he is expected to play for Poland in this summer’s FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Valencia.

Praising his teammate after a home loss to the Golden State Warriors on the most recent installment of NBA Sundays, Victor Wembanyama wished Sochan to be cleared for international action.

“He has been such a great asset for us on both sides of the court,” mentioned the French prodigy, “He is precious to us. I hope he is going to be as healthy as possible, also because he maybe is going to have the national team this summer.”

Wemby, 20, drew up 32 points in a losing effort in Frost Bank Center. Sandro Mamukelashvili posted a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. As a starter, Cedi Osman finished with 18 points.

“I think he was great,” Osman described the effort of the Georgian big, “He brought us that energy even though sometimes he is playing, sometimes he is not. He is always positive and ready to go.”

“We have changed a lot since the beginning of the season,” added the Turkish swingman, “I think we are better. If the season started today, we would be in a different spot.”

With seven outings left in the Regular Season, the Spurs sit at the bottom of the Western Conference with an 18-57 W-L tally.
