The Minnesota Timberwolves have been proving to deserve a spot among the highest in the Western Conference, going beyond any greater expectations. With six games left in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, they’re 1st with a 53-23 record, tied with 2nd-seeded and reigning champions Denver Nuggets.
A huge part of the credit must be given to Rudy Gobert, who has been averaging a double-double of 13.8 points and 12.9 rebounds per game in his second season with the team after leaving the Utah Jazz.
Touching on the French center’s impact after the enormous 48-point victory (133-85) on the road against the Toronto Raptors, Anthony Edwards praised his teammate.
When asked about Minnesota’s biggest growth this season, he had no doubts. “I think trusting Rudy [Gobert]”, he replied as reported by The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski.
“That’s the main thing”, Anthony Edwards added. “We all trust Rudy [Gobert] together. We trust to hit him in the pocket. We trust when we call a post-up, we trust he gonna catch it and do his thing”, he also addressed.
