The latest NBA prospect coming out of France, Zaccharie Risacher confirmed his intentions to enter the annual draft of the league based in North America.
“It’s always been my dream to get to the best league in the world,” the 19-year-old forward of JL Bourg told ESPN on Monday.
The young upstart is a potential top pick on June 26, according to mock drafts.
“JL Bourg has given me an incredible opportunity to showcase what I can do. It’s been the perfect place to start my young career,” he referred to switching to La Jeu for the 2023-24 campaign.
Additional playing time is expected to stretch into the bottom end of the Betclic Elite, including the Playoffs of France’s top-tier division. Displaying his talents at the continental level, he was named Rising Star of the BKT EuroCup.
“I’m proud of being part of this journey with my teammates and what we accomplished in the EuroCup,” noted Risacher, “We definitely want to do something special the rest of the season. It’s been a long season and long process with a lot of ups and downs.”
“My No. 1 strength is my shooting. Then my defensive ability after that. And lastly, my ability to do what’s asked of me, using my versatility,” the son of former player Stephane Risacher described potential contributions to an NBA team, “I can rebound, handle the ball if needed, finish above the rim, pass the ball. Whatever you ask me to do, I will do it and do it well.”
