The Los Angeles Lakers lived to fight another day following their win over Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of the NBA playoffs. Not only did they prevent a sweep that many predicted would be inevitable but they also gained some much-needed confidence to extend the series.

“Very confident,” Davis said ahead of tonight’s (Monday 29/4) Game 5. “Very confident in our group. Very confident in our schemes. Confident in our game plan and our adjustments. It’s just about us going out there and actually getting it done.”

Davis and the Lakers need to get it done to continue their season since every game is a knockout affair for them after beginning the series with three losses to the Nuggets. In Game 4, the nine-time All-Star big man posted a strong double-double of 25 points and 23 rebounds while dishing out six assists against Nikola Jokic.

He was the main reason the Lakers outrebounded the Nuggets 46 – 40 after getting beaten on the boards 38 – 51 in Game 3.

“Everybody was coming down crushing,” Davis commented. “Everybody was boxing out, helping our bigs. Obviously, Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter and Nikola Jokic they are a handful down there. Guards coming back and kinda ]sandwiching’ their bigs, keep them off the glass.”
