Bittersweet night for the Boston Celtics in Miami, getting the 3-1 advantage in the First Round series but potentially losing Kristaps Porzingis, who left the court in the first half and needed a walking boot as a precaution.
Ending his game with 7 points and 3 rebounds before suffering a right calf injury without leg contact with any opponents, there are no updates on the Latvian forward’s conditions. “I didn’t see what happened”, Joe Mazzulla said.
The Celtics still found a way to get the victory on the road, winning 102-88 and returning to Boston with the opportunity to close the series, finding one between Cleveland and Orlando in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
When asked about what he feels regarding his teammate, Al Horford gave a clear answer. “Worried. Just concerned. He’s in good spirits, but we don’t know what it’s going to be. I’m just hoping that it’s nothing serious and he can get back to us quick”, he commented about Kristaps Porzingis.
So far in the series against last year’s runner-up Miami Heat, the 28-year-old player has been averaging 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.
