The Dallas Mavericks are in the Western Conference semifinals, where they’ll meet the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder. Before the beginning of the series, the franchise decided to hand coach Jason Kidd a contract extension.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Jason Kidd has signed a multi-year contract extension with the franchise.
The former NBA star joined the Mavs in 2021 after coaching the Brooklyn Nets from 2013 to 2014 and the Milwaukee Bucks for four years. He also worked as an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers before moving to Dallas.
In his first season, Kidd led the Mavericks to the conference finals. They missed the playoffs last season before Kidd led Luka Doncic and company past the first round again.
He achieved a 50-32 record this season, following a 38-44 record in the previous season and a 52-30 record a year before.
