The last time the New York Knicks played a do-or-die Game 7 at the Madison Square Garden was May 21, 1995. In that game, they lost to the Indiana Pacers, led by Reggie Miller.
This year, another Game 7 in New York will be needed after Indiana managed to tie the series at 3-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals, winning Game 6 116-103.
Pascal Siakam dragged his team with 25 points and 7 rebounds, sharing 5 assists and taking home 2 steals as well. Tyrese Haliburton had 15 points, 6 boards, and 9 assists. “It’s exciting. We’ve got nothing to lose. I think we realize it’s time to empty the clip. We are ready to go from start to finish”, he said.
On the losing side, Jalen Brunson had 31 points and Isaiah Hartenstein had 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. However, they may have lost Josh Hart due to abdominal soreness. “I expect him to play. It’s Game 7”, Jalen Brunson said about him.
Whoever wins Game 7 will go on to face the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals after that Boston beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5. It’s possible they could also have Kristaps Porzingis on board.
