OG Anunoby is on track to return, boost Knicks

Wrapping up the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the 2024 NBA Playoffs Presented by Google Pixel and setting an opponent for the Boston Celtics in the Finals, the New York Knicks welcome the Indiana Pacers in Madison Square Garden, in the deciding meeting of a best-of-seven series. NBA Sundays host Game 7.

Sidelined with a left hamstring strain since Game 2, OG Anunoby has been working toward being cleared for action and followed the team on road assignments through the series. Upgraded to questionable for do-or-die Game 7, the British forward plans to participate in the morning shootaround on Sunday, as reported to ESPN. Whether he will go on to play in Game 7 for the team coached by Tom Thibodeau depends on his reaction and medical evaluation.

Anunoby, 26, has been an influential player for the Knicks since moving his talents to the Big Apple via trade in late December. Featuring the defensive ace produced 26 wins in 31 games between the 2023-24 Regular Season and the postseason. A 14-15 record describes team outings with Anunoby on the injury list. Over 31 appearances, the London native averaged 14.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks per contest.

The Knicks also listed Josh Hart as questionable due to an abdominal strain stemming from Game 6 versus the Pacers. Stuck to the injury list, Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic alongside Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson have all been ruled out for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.
