After winning two away games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks won their first game at home to take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
Doncic led the way as the Mavs defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-107 at the American Airlines Center, moving just one win away from the NBA Finals.
The Slovenian star had 33 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, and received great support from Kyrie Irving, who also scored 33 points.
No team in NBA playoff history has ever rallied from a 3-0 deficit.
“Don’t even say it,” said Doncic. “It feels great, but we’ve got to think about the next game. We’ve got to play with the same mentality. They’re not going to go away. No way.”
P.J. Washington added 16 points, while Derrick Jones also finished in double digits with 11.
Minnesota again couldn’t contain Dallas’ dynamic duo and fell despite Anthony Edwards scoring 26 points and nearly achieving a triple-double with nine rebounds and nine assists.
Mike Conley added 16 points, Jaden McDaniels 15, Naz Reid 14, while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
