Kristaps Porzingis was once again the leader of the New York Knicks, scoring 26 points (16 in the first quarter) in his team’s victory against the Boston Celtics (120-114). The 20-year-old rookie finished the game on 10 for 18 from the field and 3 for 9 from the three-point range, while also had six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
New York had a double-digit lead at the end of the first half (59-49), but the visitors responded and cut the deficit to just one (112-111), with a minute to go. However, the hosts stood tall and earned their fifth win in the last seven games, as Aaron Afflalo added 24 points for the Knicks. On the other hand, Isaiah Thomas had 34 points and eight assists for Boston.
