Despite dropping out in the 2023/24 NBA Playoffs First Round, the Los Angeles Clippers decided to keep head coach Tyronn Lue.

As ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported, Lue has agreed to a new long-term contract to make him one of the NBA’s highest-paid coaches.

Lue, who had one year left on his contract, has a record of 184-134 in his four seasons with the Clippers, the sixth-best in the NBA during that stretch, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

He led the Clippers to the franchise’s first Western Conference Finals appearance in the 2020-21 season but couldn’t repeat that success due to multiple injury problems.

After winning the NBA Championship in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lue became one of the league’s most respected and sought-after coaches.

So far, during his coaching career, he has a record of 312-217 (.590) in the regular season and 54-37 (.593) in the playoffs.
