Luka Doncic finally did it, the little boy from Slovenia finally did it. The former EuroLeague MVP at 18 years of age is now four wins away from his first NBA championship, potentially bringing Dallas back to glory 13 years after the last time when Dirk Nowitzki led against Miami.
Asked about what it means to finally play in the NBA Finals after probably watching the past editions late at night when growing up, he immediately answered. “I didn’t watch [them], it was 04:00 AM [in Europe]”, he said. “I had school the next day”, Luka Doncic added.
However, believe it or not, the Slovenian All-Star finally dragged Dallas to the last step before lifting the trophy everybody dreams of. “It means a lot, it’s not easy. It was a very hard road, but we’re here. Obviously we’re not done, we need four more. But I think today we all deserve to enjoy this win”, he said after celebrating in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against Minnesota.
