After dominating the Basketball Champions League with Telekom Baskets Bonn and the BKT EuroCup with Paris Basketball, there might be the NBA instead of the EuroLeague in Tuomas Iisalo’s future.
According to Arale Weisberg from Walla Sport, the Finnish head coach is getting attention from the NBA, as the Washington Wizards look interested in bringing him to their coaching staff. The way he sees basketball is indeed suitable to the market in the US, and surely captured people’s eyes overseas.
Becoming an assistant coach to Brian Keefe in Washington would mean having to deal with several players coming from overseas, such as Israeli superstar Deni Avdija, French talent Bilal Coulibaly, and former Partizan Belgrade’s forward Tristan Vukcevic.
After winning the BKT EuroCup against JL Bourg-en-Bresse, Tuomas Iisalo’s Paris Basketball is now focused on the LNB Finals against AS Monaco after eliminating ASVEL 3-2 in the Semi-Finals.
The Washington Wizards, instead, suffered one of the worst seasons in the franchise’s history with a 15-67 record, second-to-last in the East. Last year’s frontcourt players Daniel Gafford and Kristaps Porzingis will play in the NBA Finals, respectively with the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics.
