2-0 for the Celtics despite Luka Doncic’s triple-double

Luka Doncic had an electric start with 23 points in the first half and finished the game with a triple-double, but it was not enough. The Boston Celtics got the 105-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks for a 2-0 lead with two home wins in the NBA finals.

Jrue Holiday with 26 points and nine rebounds was the top scorer of Boston, and Derrick White with 18 points made key buckets and big plays on the way to the win, while Jalen Brown scored 21 points and Jayson Tatum scored 18 to go together with 12 assists and nine rebounds.

The Slovenian star who was questionable before the tipoff, played for 42 minutes and had in total 32 points, trimming the lead 103-98 with 61 seconds left, while also having 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

However, Kyrie Irving had 16 points and the Mavs couldn’t get any closer. Derrick Jones Jr blocked Tatum and P.J.Washington had the chance to trim the lead to three, but White blocked him and Brown with a layup decided the outcome.

German forward Maxi Kleber had two rebounds and couldn’t score for Dallas.

For the winning side, Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis, the hero of Game 1, scored 12 points and had four rebounds in 21 minutes of action coming off the bench.
