During the second period of the game, JJ Barrea played quite the physical defense on Russel Westbrook which angered the Oklahoma Thunders point guard. He started pushing the Puerto Rican player and a small brawl started. Barrea’s teammates, Charlie Villanueva decided to catch Westbrook from the throat, while the rest of the players pushed each other. While the “fire” among those involved went down soon, Villanueva was immediately ejected by the referees, while a technical foul was given to Serge Ibaka, Barrea and Westbrook. The latter would not continue playing for long…
… four minutes after the incident above, the refs. were probably too strict on Westbrook, after decided to push back Barrea, who kept playing intense defense on him, calling him with yet another technical, which was his second, thus sending him to watch the game from the locker rooms.
