The Dallas Mavericks are currently with their backs on the wall, challenged by what seems like an impossible task to achieve. Teams that have trailed 0-3 in an NBA Finals are 0-156 at the end of the series, and the Boston Celtics only need one more victory to lift the trophy.
After winning the first two games of the series at home, Jayson Tatum and teammates also escaped from the American Airlines Center with success in Game 3, where Luka Doncic ended with a 27-point losing effort before being ejected by the referees after picking up his sixth foul with 4:12 remaining.
Talking to Bleacher Report, the current New York Knicks’ leader and former teammate of the Slovenian phenomenon Jalen Brunson shared his opinion regarding this treatment. “I would say it’s a lot unfair. A lot goes on in a season, in a series, that a lot of people don’t see”, he first said about criticism gathering around Luka Doncic.
“It’s a tough situation to be in. It’s an emotional game, this is what everyone in this league has worked for. An opportunity like that. Sometimes, emotions get the best of you. People want players to be perfect, want you to score 40 and be the Finals MVP”, Jalen Brunson added.
Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic shared the court together from 2018 to 2022 with the Dallas Mavericks. Before the first could emerge as a superstar in New York, he averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game in his last season in Dallas.
