Luka Doncic made it to his first NBA Finals, but his Dallas Mavericks eventually lost to the Boston Celtics in five games.
He had a historic run in the playoffs despite injury problems, but that wasn’t enough for the ultimate prize.
“It doesn’t matter if I was hurt, how much I was hurt. I was out there. I tried to play, but I didn’t do enough,” Doncic said after the decisive loss in Game 5.
The Mavericks had a great push, considering the fact that they didn’t even make it to the postseason last year, and with mid-season roster changes. Therefore, Luka is not concerned about Dallas’ future.
“I feel great. We made some great moves. We were basically together for five months.”
He also commented on playing for Slovenia at the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Piraeus, where his national team will face New Zealand and Croatia in Group A, while in the other group are hosts Greece, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic.
“I don’t want to talk about what’s next. I have some decisions to make. I’m just trying to get a little bit healthier,” Doncic concluded.
